What are Skin Tags?
Skin tags, also known as acrochordonus, are common and harmless growths that vary in color, from flesh-colored to brown, can vary in size and can appear on the face, neck, armpits and groin.
There are two main causes why skin tags appear on certain people: either hereditary or because of friction. Facial skin tags are more common among people with diabetes, people who are overweight or obese and pregnant women.
Despite the fact that skin tags are benign tumors and treatment is unnecessary, most people who are diagnosed with skin tags request the services of specialized doctors to have them removed for cosmetic reasons.Â
