Chronic pelvic pain is a frustrating condition which can significantly affect the quality of life. The treatment is not affective in many cases as the causes vary from case to case. This can be simple such as urinary tract infection or complicated such as severe endometriosis. The approach to diagnosing and treating chronic pelvic pain is to give time and attention to the patient and listening with an open mind.

We will do a thorough assessment of your case by detailed history taking, examination and investigations (Bloods, Ultrasound) as needed and organise a care pathway for you. You will be given treatment/ prescription/ recommendations which you can avail at out clinic or in the NHS. Our detailed report will be communicated to you.

Pre-pregnancy health check

Pregnancy is one of the most important events in a women’s life. The women’s health should be optimised before she gets pregnant for a good outcome for the mother and the baby.

We will study your case individually; identify any health risk factors (such as diabetes, kidney disorder) and address them before you get pregnant. This might include referral to other specialists and further investigations (blood and scans). The conditions we will seek to optimise are…

Post Natal Care

Postnatal period is around 6 weeks after the delivery and is the transition of woman into motherhood. There are significant changes that can happen in women’s health during pregnancy and the delivery process for example diabetes in pregnancy, complication of perineal tears or caesarean section.

The need and mode of contraception can be very specific depending on your needs and breastfeeding preferences. The optimisation of these conditions is needed to help you in maintaining your own health but also to care optimally for your baby and family.

We will assess your health changes by examination and investigations and provide tailored advice and treatment where needed.

Fibroids: Test and Monitoring

Fibroids are benign growths of uterine muscle and most of the times they do not cause any trouble and hence do not need any treatment but a thorough assessment and reassurance is needed. In some cases they cause pressure related symptoms to urinary or rectal tract or heavy vaginal bleeding.

We will assess your case individually, do appropriate investigations which might need a scan, haemoglobin check etc. and then advise you of the treatment options. We will produce a comprehensive report for your perusal and further treatment and referral as needed.

Pessary Clinic

Prolapse of the urinary bladder, cervix or the rectum can happen due to various causes, is usually seen in post-menopausal age group but can happen earlier due to perineal trauma or weakness.

In many case this prolapse is managed conservatively and very successfully by a simple pessary. This pessary needs changing/ replacing every 4-6 months so that it does not become adherent in the vaginal canal. We will assess your prolapse and recommend the right pessary for you (there are many types).

If you already have one we can change it and book you for future changes so that you can have the changes on time.

I have succeeded in Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Royal college of Surgeons examinations and have a diploma in cosmetic gynaecology.

My main interest is in general gynaecology and obstetrics practice, focussing on addressing problems such as heavy menstrual bleeding, irregular periods,pelvic organ prolapse, vaginal birth after caesarean counselling and scar refashioning.

Additionally I also counsels patients in various other medical conditions where they need a second opinion or have a difficult decision to make in their already ongoing NHS care, for example whether to have a procedure or opt for a medical management on a case by case basis.
