What is an Accessory Nipple?
This is an additional nipple that forms from the same nipple tissue along the so called ‘milk line’ as the nipple migrates during the development of the foetus in the womb.
How can you recognise an accessory nipple?
It usually appears on the same vertical line with the one of the nipples and it appears similar or smaller in size.
It is not normally connected to any breast tissue and it does not have any functional importance.
